Meet the Band |
On Air is unique among Sacramento rock bands. For more than three decades, On Air’s 11-piece power horn, classic rock sound has captured audiences with classy musicianship, quality showmanship, and an attitude of sheer joy. They play, and dance, up a rock ‘n’ roll storm!
Much of the group has been together for most of its existence; three members were there at the outset. They first appeared at the old Woodlake Inn on New Year’s Eve 1985 as an opening act for the Beatles tribute band Rain. Since then, On Air has shared stages with such diverse artists as Paul Williams, B. B. King, comedian Pat Paulson, and Creedence Clearwater Revisited. On Air immediately went on to perform at such popular venues as the Sacramento Blues Festival, the California State Fair, the Vacaville Onion Festival, the Nevada County Fair and other regional events. They continued this performance schedule throughout the years and this past year they entertained at several local concert series including the Folsom Picnic, Carmichael Park, Curtis Park, the Fountains, Raging Waters at Cal Expo, and A Taste of Land Park. Each year On Air is invited back to the Sacramento Food Bank’s annual Run to Feed the Hungry on Thanksgiving morning. |
